Experience the world-famous “where the desert meets the sea” on a fat bike. Located on the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sand Sea of Namibia, Sandwich Harbour is one of the most unique places on Earth. Thanks to the Fat Bike, you can explore this breathtaking area in an eco-friendly way, all while staying deeply connected to nature. As you pedal through the heart of this dramatic landscape, you’ll be surrounded by the striking contrast of desert and sea—truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Itinerary: You’ll first be collected from your accommodation in Swakopmund or Walvis Bay. From there, we’ll transfer by 4x4 vehicle for roughly 40km along the coast toward Sandwich Harbour, passing the Walvis Bay Lagoon and salt pans—a prime bird sanctuary for flamingos, pelicans, and other species. After setting up base camp 8km before the lagoon, we’ll prepare the fat bikes and pack snacks for an unforgettable 3-hour adventure. Then, ride along beaches and dunes to the Sandwich Harbour lagoon, where the magic unfolds.

Stopping along the way for photos and snack breaks. The cycle is about 3 hours and 16-18km. On return to base camp we enjoy some food and well deserved ice cold drinks.
